  • The nitro cold brew here is amazing. Ethiopian coffee is not only the original coffee but the best. Light, mildly citrusy, and packs a good caffeine kick. They serve the nitro better than any Starbucks. No ice, just coffee and it’s glorious foam. The foam tastes like vanilla but no sweetener, just nitro foam. It’s best to drink nitro without a straw so you get the mouth feel and taste of the foam. The coffee mods for nitro is the one area Mofer needs to improve. Using a straw defeats 98% of the enjoyment. Please get some Starbucks style cold cup lids. The “Butter Coffee” is uniquely “Ethiopian”. The butter is a special Ethiopian butter and has earthy or grassy flavor that is unique. It is something you should try. They also serve the drink boiling hot, perfect for the winter

  • Yesterday afternoon, I visited Moffer Ethiopian Coffee House at 55 University Avenue to try their much-talked-about toasted avocado dish around 2:00 PM. I was greeted by a young woman named Hana, who embodied the warm, welcoming hospitality typical of Ethiopian culture. I informed Hana about my dietary restrictions, explaining that I avoid certain foods. She listened attentively and, like a trained dietitian, patiently explained the ingredients of various dishes with genuine care, reminiscent of a family doctor. Based on her recommendations, I ordered a toasted salad with salmon. When the dish arrived, I was surprised to find the salmon was raw. My face must have shown my discomfort—I’m fine with raw meat, but raw salmon was a cultural shock for me. When I mentioned this to Hana, she immediately noticed my reaction. I responded, saying, “It’s my fault; I should have asked you first.” Later, my friend explained that salmon is often served raw, so the misunderstanding was mine. With warmth and professionalism, Hana asked about my preferences and quickly brought me a gluten-free tuna and avocado dish. It was delicious and mouthwatering, exceeding my expectations. I was truly captivated by Hana’s kind, supportive demeanor and her ability to handle the situation with grace. I genuinely admire Moffer Coffee’s exceptional customer service and approach. Honestly, without exaggeration, Hana is the perfect Barista-in-Chief.

  • This is the first time I have visited the coffee shop. It is right across the street from the office. I was meeting a friend to catch up over coffee but couldn't resist the Avocado Toast. It exceeded my expectations and was simply delicious! To top it off, the portion was generous and the price was reasonable. I did also ordered a drip coffee, which was complementary to the Avocado Toast and flavorful.

  • Tried the coconut matcha latte at Coffee 55 mofer this afternoon — super smooth and refreshing! The girl at the counter was really friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. One thing though — it would’ve been nice if the prices were listed on the menu screen. It’s a bit annoying to have to ask the barista about each drink, but she was super helpful and patient, so it made up for it. Will definitely be coming back!

  • I had the chance to visit Mofer coffee this Monday afternoon and hands down one of the best iced caramel lattes I have had. The barista was such a sweet soul. She welcomed me in with a big smile making me feel welcomed and at home. I can’t express how good the latte was you got try yourself. Definitely recommend and I will be coming back!

  • Mofer Coffee is one of my favourite spots. I come here often the coffee is always fresh, the staff are super friendly, and the vibe is really nice. Recently they started offering sandwiches, and I tried the egg and tuna ones. Both were fresh, tasty, and honestly the best I’ve had in a coffee shop. Highly recommend checking this place out.

  • I have visited a number of the Mofer locations and have found the decor and atmosphere in all of them very relaxing. This location on University Avenue is a beautiful contemporary space with a variety of seating arrangements. It would be perfect both for a coffee and a chat and for a workspace. I had the Cortado and was extremely pleased with the richness of the coffee. It was served in a beautiful cup and very hot, just the way I had asked for it.
